Up in the sky

This past week Daniel cashed in on his graduation gift i got him last April. Although I was there I thought his point of view would be better for this little post so here it is

..............

I remember as graduation with my Bachelors Degree approached My wife said she was getting me a graduation gift and that it was going to cost a lot of money. I was a little worried because we didn't have "a lot" of money at the time. But I didn't worry to much and life went on. I would have never guessed got me a gift that was so awesome.

She got me my first Private Pilots Lesson!!!

We arranged a day to go fly and it couldn't come fast enough. The morning came and we drove to the local private airport. I met with the Instructor and I was stoked. This had been a dream of mine for a long time. We got into the Grumman Cheetah and all my prior worries just melted away! He went through the Pre-Flight check and the electrical system check and the blah blah blah check. (I'm sure it was very important but It was aviation talk, and I had no clue what he was doing). and after all the checks we were on the runway. The long black strip of tarmac in front of me and he said "Alright do this and do this and its your airplane." What followed was pure elation... pure ecstasy... pure child-like joy that is rare in the world today. I feel closer to my God and Creator since my escape, my escape from the earth and entering the sky. For a moment I entered the heavens. My life is truly elevated since that simple gift. May all your gifts elevate and inspire like my wife's did for me!
