He's growing up

When I was pregnant it felt like time went so slow. My stomach slowly grew and day to day I never really saw a difference. Now that Lincoln is here I thought that the same thing would happen. Time would slow again and I wouldn't notice changes day to day. That is not at all what is happening. Every morning as I wake up to my sweet boy cooing and talking to his fox in his crib I look at him and wonder where my baby went from the day before. He is growing so rapidly that I can barely keep up with his changes. It makes me a little sad when I look back at the pictures from the hospital or Lincoln's first weeks at home and realize that my new born is gone. He's now a giggly bundle of leg rolls that chews on everything insight. I'll admit the stage that Lincoln is in right now is way more fun than the newborn stage but I wish time would slow down a little.
So now that I'm done being all mushy let's talk about the good stuff.
Lincoln had solids for the first time yesterday!
He has actually been eating rice cereal since he was about 2 months old because the formula wasn't enough to keep him full through the night so I would just put some in his bottle.
Using a spoon was a whole new experience for that little guy though.
He might have accidentally been gagged a few times by the spoon but he didn't throw up so I say it was a success. By the end he was an absolute mess but he was kind of starting to get the hang of it.
I will say I'm surprised he even ate the cereal. It smelled really bad and I know if someone was shoving a spoonful of that in my face I wouldn't eat it.
{Please excuse the poor quality photos. My camera charger is missing so I have to work with what I got}

  1. I don't know if my other 2 attempts to comment are showing up, so here's a third try- you can delete any duplicates! None of my kids would eat rice cereal, so I gave them baby oatmeal instead....SUCCESS! I'll never forget when J'aime Graff told me her kids still love rice cereal. They call it "num-nums" ROFL!
