Lincoln's Circus

I love birthday's. I love that everyone in the world gets one day a year when they are the most important person. So it seemed appropriate to throw a big bash for Lincoln's first birthday. Even though he won't remember it and he had no idea that the entire party was just for him, he'll be able to look back and know that his day has always been important. So we decided to throw Lincoln a circus. The plan was to turn the back patio into a circus tent and have a concession stand and all the fun of a circus (minus the elephants, monkeys, and lions because that's ridiculous) and everything turned out perfect, for about 10 minutes. Once everything was set up the wind picked up and blew all of our hard work to shreds. After a minor major breakdown on my part everything was put back together to withstand what felt like hurricane force winds we were back on track. Lincoln loved everything! Especially the attention from everyone. We dressed him up as the strongest man in the world, which seemed appropriate to me. We had lots of family and friends come and celebrate Lincoln and it was pretty emotional to see all of these people who love my little guy, I blame mom emotions mixed with pregnancy emotions for that one. Overall we had a lot of fun but I am pretty relieved that birthdays are only once a year because they're a lot of work!
