Our little girl

Our sweet little girl has finally arrived! I seriously can't believe how fast the last 9 months went. Chasing around Lincoln made it go by pretty quick I'm sure, but seriously it seems like I just found out I was pregnant.

Savannah's labor and delivery was so different than Lincoln's, In fact it was way better. The past few weeks I have been feeling contractions off and on and I've slowly been progressing. With Daniel working in St. George and having quick labors this was kind of scary. We were afraid that he would miss the entire thing if I went into labor while he was at work. So I basically sat around all day with Lincoln. It was really annoying. I talked to my doctor about it was he brought up an induction. He said I could be induced as early as 39 weeks if I had already progressed a little and I had been dilated to a 3 for weeks so that wasn't going to be an issue. I wasn't sure if that was what I wanted because I heard pitocin slowed labor down and I have been blessed with quick labors so I didn't want to be in labor for several hours if I was induced. After talking about it with Daniel we decided that an induction would probably be the best route for us. It would mean Daniel would for sure be there, Lincoln would have a babysitter lined up, and it would be less stressful and chaotic. So on the 26th  we scheduled the induction for 7 o'clock on the 29th. I've been really ready to get her out of me so I was relieved to know I only had a couple more days. The day before Daniel took half the day off so he could help me clean and get the laundry done. Seriously, I have the best husband. He did EVERYTHING while I relaxed. The next morning we left the house disgustingly early so we could get Lincoln to my parents house and then to the hospital without rushing. Once we got to the hospital it was basically just consent forms and insurance stuff and then about 7:45 they finally started the pitocin. I was dilated to a 4 at this point so the doctor came in and popped my water. The contractions started really quickly after that. I told my nurse that I wanted to skip the epidural because I knew I could do it since I did with Lincoln. I changed my mind. After one contraction I remembered how terrible they were and I knew that if I didn't ask for one right then, I wouldn't get one. Luckily the nurse anesthetist was literally right outside my room. He came in and got the epidural going. The needle they stick in your back is seriously gigantic. It's a good thing I'm not afraid of needles because that was a little intimidating. He got it started and I could still feel every contraction and they were getting worse. I guess I'm one of those people that need double the dose of anesthesia. Eventually he gave me a dose that worked enough for me but there was still a little pocket on right side that never quite numbed. I was able to relax a little and I was ready to take a nap. The nurse decided to check me first and she couldn't even feel my cervix which meant it was time to push. I really wanted a nap though. By this time it was about 9:20. With Lincoln I felt the urge to push so I knew it was time but this time I was so numb that I couldn't feel anything. I thought this was going to make pushing really difficult. Once I was pushing it wasn't hard at all. It only took about 4 pushes and our sweet little girl was here! They laid her straight on my chest and I was shocked by her bright blonde hair! I was really negative during this entire pregnancy because carrying her was really hard on me but the second I laid eyes on her it made it all worth it. I'm so grateful this little angel joined our family. We feel complete right now with this sweet addition to our family.
