My blessings

This year has been quite a year and I'm just in shock about how fast it has gone. Last thanksgiving is still so clear in my mind and I can't believe it was a whole year ago. This year I have been blessed with so much more than I could have imagined. This little family of mine has had our set backs. Living in my parents basement while Daniel and I are in school isn't exactly how I planned to spend the last few months. I had a plan for this year and absolutly nothing has gone according to plan, but through all of that there are so many things that I have been blessed with. As I have been thinking about writing this post the last few days I relized that of course it's the big things that are blessings but it's also the little things. And those little things add up quickly. So in no particular order here are a few of my biggest blessings

  1. My sweet Lincoln. He brings a light to my life that can never be replaced. He has such an infectious laugh and smile that even on my worst days can turn everything around. He has been such an easy going baby from day one which has made my life so easy transitioning into my new role as a mother. Watching him grow and develop over the last 7 months has been such a joy and my time with this little one is so precious and I'm so glad I get to be home and spend all my time with him.
  2. Getting my education. I'm actually really bad at being grateful for this. Since getting pregnant the first time I have had a really hard time with school. Our timing with Lincoln was a little off and I wanted to be graduated before I had kids but that didn't happen. I'm so glad I have stuck to it and that I only have two semesters left.
  3. My hard working Daniel. Workings nights, while going to school, being the best daddy, and being an 11 year old scout leader I know can be a lot for Daniel and yet he doesn't complain. He works so hard so I can stay at home with Lincoln and provide for our needs while sacrificing his extra time to get his Masters degree to give us a comfortable life. He is my number one, best friend, and biggest supporter and I wonder sometimes what I did to deserve such a wonderful man. And he's really good looking.
  4. Our second little baby. This little one was a big surprise but I get the chance to be a mommy AGAIN! A lot of people don't get this chance that I do to get pregnant so easy a quickly and because of this I have decided that I won't complain about the struggle and discomfort of pregnancy because I get to experience something so many woman fight for.
  5. Yoga pants. I don't often make it out of my yoga pants for a week straight. Without these blessed black sweat pants my life would end and I would be one of those people in wal-mart that show up in their pajamas.
  6. Lincoln's Baby Einstein jumper. I'm serious when I say without this I would have failed half my classes already this semester without it. On Saturdays my mom watches him so I can get most of my homework done but during the week this blessed baby toy keeps my little man busy so I can do my studies.
  7. Redbox movies. One of our favorite dates before Lincoln was born was going to the dollar theater. Obviously with Lincoln that's not an option anymore. Thanks to Redbox we're keeping it alive.
  8. Being a Mormon. I know that the LDS church is fired on a lot because the world doesn't think what we believe to be true, but I disagree. I know that this church is true and I love the gospel and all that it teaches. I am grateful I am a member this church and that we have a living prophet on the earth today.
  9. A double shower head. Seriously showers are a dream when you have not one but two shower heads. It's no wonder I take 30 minute showers.
  10. My parents. I have been blessed with wonderful supportive parents. They have been so wonderful letting us live in their basement while Daniel and I finish school and save our money instead of living off of student loans. They have helped me with Lincoln so I can study are the best grandparents to Lincoln.
My life isn't perfect. Lincoln keeps me up all night, Daniel and I fight, and I sometimes don't shower for 3 days but I am grateful for my imperfect life and all of the blessings that come with it.
