29 never looked so good

Early in November, in fact I think it was on my Birthday, Daniel and I were talking about what he wanted to do for his birthday this year. First he said he wanted to just stay at home with everyone and do a jig-saw puzzle. Well I convinced him that no one would like that, Including himself, and it would be really boring and awful. It actually didn't take too much convincing. So he thought for a minute and he said "I know exactly what I want to do". So he proceeded to write on a napkin what he wanted to do and slide it across the table like we were making a deal and he was offering me money. When I opened it and read it, it said "mini marshmallow gun war in the church gym". I laughed really hard.

Well he was serious. So after planning for a month and a half  on Daniel's birthday the Welch clan treked down to the church building for capture the flag with marshmallow guns. All of the kids came with us and they watched Frozen while the adults played. It was seriously the funniest thing I have ever seen. A bunch of grown adults running around the church gym shooting marshmallows at each other like we are all in middle school. 10 bags of mini marshmallows later the red team dominated and the blue team was left in the dust. Sadly, Daniel and I were on the blue team.

Even though I laughed in the beginning this was seriously the best birthday Daniel has had since we have been married and I believe that it's due to the fact that we all acted like we were kids again. Now I can't wait to plan this exact same birthday party when Lincoln turns 10.

On a more serious note I love celebrating Daniel's birthday. I love being able to celebrate how wonderful he is and showering him with attention. I was blessed with such a wonderful husband and I am truly grateful that I was just able to spend another year of his life with him and that there are many more ahead of us.
